The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 clearly outline the obligations for training.

Our IPAF Instructors are highly qualified and have many years of industry experience, this combined with our professional, polite and punctual approach to training will ensure a great learning experience.

Our IPAF courses are designed for all MEWP (Mobile Elevated Working Platforms) users to include but not limited to, Scissor lifts, Cherry Pickers, Booms, Stock Pickers, Vehicle and trailer mounted booms and are designed to give users the knowledge to prepare and safely operate various types of MEWPS. Our operator course is a minimum of 7 hours covering both theory and practical instruction and assessments, there are no prerequisites to this course although a working knowledge of MEWPS is an advantage.

The IPAF Operator course is a 1-2 day course, please bear in mind your experience levels when booking as inexperienced delegates should consider booking a 2 day course to ensure adequate experience is achieved prior to practical assessment.

Successful delegates will receive an IPAF certificate and IPAF PAL photo card licence which is valid for 5 years.

  • Introduction to IPAF and MEPS (for the relevant categories)
  • Pre-Theory test
  • Legislation, Regulations, Standards and best practice
  • MEWP Categories explained
  • Structural parts identified
  • Pre-use inspections/Handover requirements
  • Safe operating methods and Hazards to be observed
  • Post-theory test
  • Practical instruction on relevant categories
  • Practical assessment on relevant categories
  • Log book & licence renewal information
